March 3rd 6pm Confront the MTA in Brooklyn!
On Wednesday Mar. 3, at 6 p.m., there will be a public hearing on proposed MTA service cuts at the Brooklyn Museum. New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, Transportation Chair James Vacca and members of the Brooklyn delegation will be on hand to discuss, among other things: the elimination of student MetroCards, cuts to Access-a-Ride, elimination of bus lines, and reduced weekend service on several subway lines, including the D, G, and A.
These ‘public hearings’ are just a forum set up for people to vent their frustrations at politicians and MTA hacks, nothing said at these forums are taken into account by those calling them in terms of the policy that they create, these decisions are already made.
Still a large vocal rowdy presence outside these hearings can show them that we won’t take their bullshit anymore! Meet in front of the Brooklyn Museum, 200 Eastern Parkway bring banners, noisemakers, and your friends:
